Birmingham, AL – Man Loses Life in Pedestrian Crash on I-65 near University Blvd

Birmingham, AL (July 28, 2023) – A 44-year-old man lost his life as a result of a pedestrian accident that occurred early Wednesday morning in the Birmingham area.

At around 6:30 a.m. on July 26, calls for assistance came in surrounding an automobile accident that occurred on Interstate 65.

According to reports from the Birmingham Police Department, a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the interstate near the exit for University Boulevard. The crash caused delays on the northbound side of the roadway after crews closed off the scene.

The pedestrian was fatally injured in the accident and pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, the incident is being investigated.
