Elberta, AL – Two-Vehicle Wreck on US-98 near MM 74 Takes Life of Robert Earl Baker, Jr

Elberta, AL (June 12, 2023) – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed that a motor vehicle wreck in Elberta claimed the life of 22-year-old Robert Earl Baker, Jr.

The accident was reported at around 10:10 a.m. on June 11.

According to reports provided by ALPA, two vehicles collided on US Highway 98 near mile marker 74 during the morning hours. The incident involves a 2015 Dodge Dart and an Infinity G37.

A passenger in the Dodge, identified as Baker, was severely hurt in the crash. He was pronounced deceased after being transported to Sacred Heart Hospital for emergency treatment.

The driver of the Dodge, identified as 59-year-old Carlton Craig Hensell, was injured in the crash. He was transported to an area hospital for medical care.

The incident is currently being investigated.
