Fultondale, AL – Gayla Joy Ingle Killed in Car Crash on I-65

Fultondale, AL (December 25, 2023) – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed that 27-year-old Gayla Joy Ingle lost her life as a result of a crash in Birmingham County on Friday evening, December 22. The incident took place on Interstate 65.

According to local law enforcement, a collision between vehicles occurred on the northbound side lanes of Interstate 65 during the evening hours. Preliminary investigations show that a semi-truck and a car collided on the roadway at around 4:45 p.m. near mile marker 266. ALEA shut down the roadway for an extended period as they worked to remove the involved vehicles. One person involved in the accident, identified as Ingle, was severely hurt. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Jefferson County coroner’s office. The accident is currently being investigated.
