Hartford, AL – Wade Alan Hartzog Loses Life in Crash on AL-123

Hartford, AL (October 2, 2023) – A 66-year-old man lost his life as a result of an automobile collision that took place in Hartford on Sunday, October 1.


According to reports provided by the Alabama State Troopers, at around 5:55 a.m., 70-year-old Richard Leroy Popp was driving along Alabama Highway 123 when he struck a pedestrian on the roadway.


The pedestrian, who was identified as 66-year-old Wade Alan Hartzog, was severely hurt in the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by coroner Donnie Adkinson.


At this time, the incident is being investigated.
