Fatal Auto Accidents in Alabama
Every year, Alabama witnesses the heartbreaking loss of hundreds of lives due to motor vehicle accidents. Many of these tragedies could have been prevented. It's disheartening to see innocent individuals lose their lives daily because of careless and reckless drivers. Some of the primary factors contributing to fatal car crashes in our state include:
Speeding: Driving above the speed limit on our roads can result in deadly accidents, especially on narrow or winding routes.
Driving under the influence (DUI): Alcohol and drug use can impair a driver's judgment, coordination, and reaction time, leading to severe accidents with devastating consequences.
Distracted driving: Any activity that diverts a driver's attention from the road, like cell phone use, eating, or conversing with passengers, can be dangerous in Alabama.
Driver fatigue: Operating a vehicle while tired or drowsy can diminish a driver's ability to react quickly and make sound decisions.
Failure to yield: Neglecting to stop at stop signs or red lights, or not yielding to others in parking lots, can also result in tragic accidents.
