Macon Co., AL – Head-On Crash on I-85 near MM 37 Takes One Life

Macon Co., AL (February 12, 2024) – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed that 45-year-old Angela Wilson of Columbus, Georgia, lost her life as a result of a fatal collision that occurred early Sunday morning in Macon County. Authorities were called to the scene of the accident at around 3:00 a.m. on February 11.

Crash reports show a head-on collision occurred near mile marker 37 on Interstate 85. The involved vehicles were significantly damaged and had to be towed from the scene. One of the people involved in the accident, identified as Wilson, was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the car, identified as 44-year-old Adrien T. Wilson, was injured in the accident. They were transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for emergency care. The driver of the second vehicle was also injured. The victim, 40-year-old Rony G. Miranda, was transported to East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika for emergency treatment. ALEA is currently investigating the incident.
