Macon Co., AL - Man Killed in Fatal Car Crash on AL 49 at MM 1

Macon County, AL (August 5, 2024) – A fatal car crash occurred on Friday afternoon, August 2, on Alabama 49 Highway in Macon County, resulting in the death of a Dadeville man. The incident, reported by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), took place at approximately 12:50 p.m. near the 1-mile marker, roughly five miles south of Franklin.


According to officials, Trevarian T. Goodman, 25, of Dadeville, was driving a 2011 Honda Accord when his vehicle collided head-on with a 2023 Ford F-350 pickup truck driven by James W. Davis, 37, of Auburn. The impact of the collision was severe, Goodman was pronounced dead at the scene.


The driver of the Ford F-350 was not reported to have sustained serious injuries, although paramedics were dispatched to the accident scene for assistance. Troopers with ALEA are actively investigating the cause of the crash.
