Mobile, AL (February 26, 2025) – A severe traffic accident happened on Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Azalea Rd and Burma Rd in Mobile, leaving one individual in critical condition and another with minor injuries. The Mobile Police Department responded to the incident, which occurred around 1:30 p.m.
Authorities reported that a sedan and an SUV collided at the crossroads. Upon arrival, officers discovered the sedan’s driver unconscious and in critical condition. Paramedics swiftly transported the individual to a nearby hospital. The SUV’s driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a medical facility in a private vehicle.
Initially, officials believed the driver of the sedan had succumbed to their injuries. However, an update from the Mobile Police Department at 2:52 p.m. confirmed that emergency personnel successfully revived the individual while en route to the hospital, where they remain in critical condition.
The crash led to major traffic delays as both directions of the intersection were temporarily closed. Firefighters and emergency responders worked at the scene to assist with vehicle extrication. Both vehicles were eventually removed from the roadway.
