Pike Co, AL (April 7, 2025) – A fatal car crash occurred on Friday afternoon, April 4, resulting in the death of a Brundidge man and injuries to two others. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) confirmed that the collision happened around noon on AL Hwy 125 near the 23-mile marker, approximately seven miles south of Brundidge.

According to ALEA, the crash involved a 2014 Chevrolet Impala driven by 25-year-old Anquavious D. Walker and a 2002 Toyota 4Runner operated by a resident of Covington, Georgia. The vehicles collided head-on under circumstances that remain under investigation.

Emergency crews responded swiftly. Firefighters assisted with extricating the victims from the wreckage while paramedics rendered aid and transported the injured to nearby hospitals. Walker was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash. A 2-year-old child riding in Walker’s vehicle and the driver of the 4Runner were both hospitalized. The severity of their injuries has not been released.

Traffic was rerouted for several hours as law enforcement and first responders worked to manage the scene and investigate the cause of the crash. ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is continuing to examine the incident.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to the family and loved ones of Anquavious D. Walker during this difficult time.

Fatal Crashes in Pike County and Wrongful Death Claims

Deadly car accidents are a persistent concern in Pike County, particularly on rural highways where head-on collisions are more likely to occur. These types of crashes often result in severe injuries or fatalities due to high speeds and limited visibility. Each year, multiple lives are lost on local roads, leaving families to cope with sudden and heartbreaking losses.

In the aftermath of a fatal crash, families may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim. In Alabama, these legal actions are designed to hold negligent parties accountable and may result in punitive damages. While no amount of money can replace a loved one, wrongful death claims can bring a sense of justice and help prevent future tragedies.
