Tuscumbia, AL – Truck Crash on Hwy 72 at Old Lee Hwy Takes One Life

Tuscumbia, AL (January 26, 2024) – The Tuscumbia Police Department confirmed that 19-year-old Simeon Michael Malone, of Cherokee, Alabama, lost his life as a result of an automobile accident that took place on Wednesday morning, January 24. The crash was reported to the police at 11:18 a.m.

According to official reports, a tractor-trailer was involved in a collision with an unknown number of vehicles on Highway 72 in the area just east of the Sprint Mart. Authorities responded to the scene and closed off the roadway just one half of a mile east of Old Lee Highway. One person involved in the accident, identified as Malone, was fatally injured. He was pronounced deceased by authorities. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
